Le résultat des élections du dimanche 9 juin prochain, avec une montée de l'extrême droite dans notre pays et un peu partout en Europe, s'annonce douloureux pour le monde du travail, pour la jeunesse, les migrant.e.s, les précaires et tous.tes les opprimé.e.s. Retrouvons-nous tous.te.s à Bruxelles, le 16 juin, à 13h au Mont des Arts à Bruxelles pour une grande manifestation de riposte sociale et antifasciste !

De verkiezingsuitslag van zondag 9 juni, met de opkomst van extreem-rechts in ons land en in heel Europa, belooft pijnlijk te worden voor arbeiders, jongeren, migranten, precaire mensen en alle onderdrukten. Laten we op 16 juni om 13 uur allemaal samenkomen in Brussel op de Kunstberg voor een grote demonstratie van sociaal en antifascistisch verzet!

The outcome of the elections on Sunday June 9, with the rise of the far right in our country and across Europe, promises to be painful for workers, young people, migrants, the precarious and all the oppressed. Let's all meet up in Brussels, on June 16, at 1pm, at the Mont des Arts, for a massive demonstration of social and antifascist response!

Appel unitaire à une manifestation antifasciste le 16 juin 2024 à Bruxelles

Le résultat des élections du dimanche 9 juin prochain, avec une montée de l'extrême droite dans notre pays et un peu partout en Europe, s'annonce douloureux pour le monde du travail, pour la jeunesse, les migrant.e.s, les précaires et tous.tes les opprimé.e.s. La Belgique doit se préparer à un nouveau dimanche noir. S'il se profile clairement en Flandre, avec une extrême droite première dans les sondages, nous verrons ce qu'il en sera de la Belgique francophone. Restera-t-elle un îlot de résistance à la montée de l'extrême droite ? Nous n'en avons aujourd'hui aucune garantie. Bruxelles, qui accueille les institutions européennes, est quant à elle devenue un terrain de prédilection pour la stratégie de "normalisation" de l'extrême droite, symbole de sa volonté d'accéder au pouvoir.

Cette montée de l'extrême droite est le produit de la réponse politique donnée aux nombreuses crises qui se sont succédé : prix de l'énergie, inflation généralisée, crise sanitaire, crise de l'accueil, aggravement de la crise écologique, crise du secteur agricole, etc. Dans ce contexte, l'Union européenne pousse ses États membres à renouer avec une politique d'austérité, dont les conséquences seront payées par les travailleurs et les travailleuses : moins d'investissements dans les soins de santé, dans les transports en commun publics, dans l'enseignement, dans la lutte contre la crise écologique ou pour réduire les inégalités. Concrètement, la poursuite de cette politique austéritaire signifie la poursuite du démantèlement de l'État social.

Et c'est l'extrême droite qui va encore en profiter, car en réponse au déclassement, elle continuera à nous diviser, en pointant la (fausse) responsabilité des migrant.e.s, pris comme boucs émissaires, et non la destruction des outils de redistribution de la richesse et des socles de droits sociaux fondamentaux.

Jamais ce ne sera l'extrême droite qui demandera des salaires plus élevés pour toutes et tous. Jamais ce ne sera l'extrême droite qui demandera de taxer les plus riches, qui augmentera le nombre de logements sociaux, ou qui mettra en œuvre une transition écologique ancrée dans une logique de justice sociale, nécessaire pour notre avenir commun.

On le voit partout, quand elle accède au pouvoir, l'extrême droite mène des politiques absolument désastreuses : contre l'État de droit, contre les travailleurs et les travailleuses, contre les droits des personnes migrantes, des femmes, des personnes LGTBQIA+. Partout, elle approfondit la casse sociale.
Les partis d'extrême droite ne défendent pas les intérêts des travailleur·euses, ils sont l'assurance vie d'un système aux abois.

La colère légitime des électeurs désespérés qui se tournent vers ces partis devrait pouvoir s'orienter contre les politiques qui sont véritablement responsables de la situation et devrait trouver un nouvel espoir dans un projet social, écologique et progressiste assumé.

Cet appel à manifester est donc un appel en faveur d'un projet de société solidaire :

1. Face au chômage, à la vie chère et à la dégradation des conditions de travail, revendiquons une meilleure répartition de la richesse et une réduction du temps de travail.

2. Face à l'austérité européenne appliquée docilement par nos gouvernements, reconstruisons une sécurité sociale et des services publics forts.

3. Face au changement climatique et son lot de catastrophes, exigeons une transition écologique juste et sociale.

4. Face à la politique d'asile inhumaine, luttons pour une politique migratoire et d'accueil solidaire.

5. Face au sexisme, racisme, LGBTQIA+phobie, … organisons-nous pour promouvoir une société plus inclusive et égalitaire avec notre meilleure arme : la solidarité !

Par cet appel, la Coordination antifasciste de Belgique refuse la fatalité et la dépolitisation du débat. Au contraire, nous voulons signifier que la montée de l'extrême droite n'est pas inéluctable. Et que s'y attaquer passe par la construction d'une vraie alternative, sociale, écologique, et démocratique, seule capable de vraiment répondre aux grands enjeux d'aujourd'hui et de demain.

Retrouvons nous tous à Bruxelles, le 16 juin à 13h au Mont des Arts (Gare centrale), pour défendre ce projet social seul capable de répondre aux enjeux de notre époque !

Gezamenlijke oproep voor een antifascistische demonstratie op 16 juni 2024 in Brussel

De verkiezingen van zondag 9 juni, met de opkomst van extreemrechts in ons land en in heel Europa, beloven pijnlijk te worden voor werkenden, jongeren, migranten, wie in precariteit leeft en alle onderdrukten. België stevent af op een nieuwe zwarte zondag. In Vlaanderen is dit duidelijk met extreemrechts dat vooraan staat in de peilingen. Het is nog afwachten wat er gebeurt in Franstalig België. Blijft dat een eiland van verzet tegen de opkomst van extreemrechts? Daar hebben we geen garantie voor. Brussel, waar de Europese instellingen gevestigd zijn, is een favoriete locatie geworden voor de 'normalisatiestrategie' van extreemrechts, een symbool van hun verlangen om aan de macht te komen.
De opkomst van extreemrechts is het resultaat van het politieke antwoord op een opeenvolging van crises: energieprijzen, wijdverspreide inflatie, de gezondheidscrisis, de opvangcrisis, de verergerende ecologische crisis, de crisis in de landbouwsector, enzovoort. Tegen deze achtergrond dwingt de Europese Unie haar lidstaten om terug te keren naar een besparingsbeleid waarvan de werkende mensen de gevolgen dragen: minder investeringen in gezondheidszorg, openbaar vervoer, onderwijs, bestrijding van de milieucrisis en terugdringen van de ongelijkheid. Praktisch gezien betekent het voortzetten van dit besparingsbeleid een verdere ontmanteling van de welvaartsstaat.

Het is extreemrechts dat hiervan zal profiteren. Als antwoord op de afbraak blijft het immers verdeeldheid zaaien. Het schuift ten onrechte de verantwoordelijkheid door naar zondebokken, zoals migranten, in plaats van te wijzen op de vernietiging van elementen van herverdeling van rijkdom en afbraak van fundamentele sociale rechten.

Extreemrechts zal nooit hogere lonen voor iedereen eisen. Het zal nooit extreemrechts zijn dat oproept tot het belasten van de rijksten, het verhogen van het aantal sociale woningen of het doorvoeren van een ecologische transitie die geworteld is in een logica van sociale rechtvaardigheid, wat noodzakelijk is voor onze gemeenschappelijke toekomst.

Zoals we overal kunnen zien, voert extreemrechts, wanneer het aan de macht komt, een absoluut rampzalig beleid: tegen democratische rechten, tegen werknemers, tegen de rechten van migranten, vrouwen en LGTBQIA+ personen. Overal verergert het de sociale afbraak.

De extreemrechtse partijen verdedigen niet de belangen van werknemers; ze zijn de levensverzekering van een systeem dat in ademnood komt.

De legitieme woede van de wanhopige kiezers die zich tot deze partijen wenden, moet gericht worden tegen de politici die werkelijk verantwoordelijk zijn voor de situatie. De woede moet leiden tot nieuwe hoop in een offensief sociaal, ecologisch en progressief project.

Deze oproep om te betogen is daarom een oproep voor een sociaal project gebaseerd op solidariteit:

1. In een context van werkloosheid, hoge kosten van levensonderhoud en verslechterende arbeidsomstandigheden eisen we een betere verdeling van de rijkdom en een vermindering van de arbeidstijd.
2. Tegenover de Europese besparingen, die onze regeringen loyaal toepassen, moeten we opnieuw sociale zekerheid en sterke openbare diensten opbouwen.
3. Met het oog op de klimaatverandering en al haar catastrofes eisen we een eerlijke en sociale ecologische transitie.
4. Tegenover een onmenselijk asielbeleid strijden we voor een migratie- en opvangbeleid van solidariteit.
5. Tegenover seksisme, racisme, LGBTQIA+fobie, enz. organiseren we ons voor een meer inclusieve en egalitaire samenleving. We doen dat met ons beste wapen: solidariteit!

Met deze oproep verwerpt de Coördinatie van Antifascisten in België (CAB) het fatalisme en de depolitisering van het debat. We willen integendeel aantonen dat de opkomst van extreemrechts niet onvermijdelijk is. En dat de enige manier om er iets aan te doen, bestaat uit het bouwen aan een echt sociaal, ecologisch en democratisch alternatief, de enige manier om antwoorden te bieden op de grote uitdagingen van vandaag en morgen.

Kom mee op straat in Brussel op 16 juni 13u Kunstberg (Centraal station) om dit project te verdedigen, het enige dat in staat is om de uitdagingen van deze tijd aan te gaan!

Joint call for an anti-fascist demonstration on 16 June 2024

With the rise of the far right across Europe, the outcome of the elections on Sunday the 9th of June promises to be painful for workers, young people, migrants, the precarious and all the oppressed. Belgium must prepare for another Black Sunday. If it is clear that it will happen in Flanders, with the far right leading the polls, we'll see what happens in French-speaking Belgium. Will it remain an island of resistance to the rise of the far right? Today, we have no guarantee of that. Brussels, which is home to European institutions, has become a privileged location for the far right's strategy of 'normalisation', a symbol of its desire to gain power.

The rise of the far right is the product of the political response to a succession of crises: energy prices, widespread inflation, the health crisis, the crisis of the welcoming of refugees, the worsening ecological crisis, the crisis in the agricultural sector, and so on. Against this backdrop, the European Union is pushing its Member States to return to a policy of austerity, the consequences of which will be paid for by working men and women: less investment in healthcare, public transport, education, the fight against the ecological crisis and the reduction of inequalities. Concretely, pursuing this austerity policy means continuing to dismantle the welfare state.

And it is the far right that will benefit from this. Because in response to social downgrading, the far right will continue to divide us, pointing the finger at the (false) responsibility of migrants, taken as scapegoats, rather than at the destruction of the tools of wealth redistribution and of the foundations of fundamental social rights.

It will never be the far right that demands higher wages for all. It will never be the far right that calls for taxing the richest, increasing the number of social housing units, or implementing an ecological transition rooted in a logic of social justice, which is necessary for our common future.

As we can see everywhere, when it comes to power, the far right pursues absolutely disastrous policies: against the rule of law, against workers, against the rights of migrants, women and LGTBQIA+ people. Everywhere, it is deepening social breakdown.

Far-right parties are not defending the interests of workers; they are the life insurance policy of a dying system.

The legitimate anger of the desperate voters who turn to these parties should be directed against the politicians who are truly responsible for the situation, and should find new hope in an openly social, ecological and progressive project.

This call to demonstrate is therefore a call for a social project based on solidarity:
1. In the face of unemployment, high living costs and worsening working conditions, let's demand a better distribution of wealth and a work time reduction.
2. In the face of European austerity, obediently applied by our governments, let's rebuild social security and strong public services.
3. In the face of climate change and all its catastrophes, let's demand a just and social ecological transition.
4. In the face of an inhumane asylum policy, let's fight for a migration and welcoming policy based on solidarity.
5. In the face of sexism, racism, LGBTQIA+phobia, etc., let's get organized to promote a more inclusive and egalitarian society with our best weapon: solidarity!

With this call, the Antifascist Coordination of Belgium rejects fatalism and the epoliticization of the debate. On the contrary, we want to show that the rise of the far right is not inevitable. And that confronting it means building a real social, ecological and democratic alternative at the European level, which is the only way to respond to the major challenges of today and tomorrow.

Let's all meet in Brussels on the 16th of June at 1pm at the Mont des Arts (Central Station) to defend this social project, the only one capable of meeting the challenges of our time!
