Concert : Short Ideas

Léo et Tom jouent ensemble depuis toujours. Ou presque. Jumeaux extravertis originaires du nord de la France, ils se passionnent pour la musique qu'ils découvrent dans la collection de vinyle familiale : Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Neil Young...

Ils commencent alors à jouer ensemble et travaillent longuement l'harmonie de leurs voix et de leurs guitares. En 2019 Short Ideas voit le jour : Tom à la guitare classique, Léo à la folk, les deux à la voix - le tout doté d'un son indie-folk élastique, oscillant entre légèreté et mélancolie. Leur premier album homemade, Drying Leaves On a Line, parait en 2021.

Cet automne, ils révèleront leur premier EP How Could a Touch Be Softer?, projet longuement maturé, assumant un tournant folk-rock aux accents freak qui conserve la douceur qui les caractérise. Un premier single sort le 29 août et sera suivi d'un second fin septembre.

Léo and Tom play together since forever. Well, almost.

Extrovert twins from the north of France, they get passionate as teenagers about the music that they discover in the family record collection : Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Neil Young...

They then start playing together and work thoroughly on their vocal and guitar harmonies. In 2019, Short Ideas is born : Tom plays nylon stringed guitar, Léo plays steel stringed and they both sing. They so create an elastic indie-folk sound, oscillating between lightness and melancholy. They released their first auto-produced album Drying Leaves on a Line in November 2021.

This fall, they will release their first EP "How Could a Touch Be Softer?", their most matured project, including a folk-rock twist of the tone and freak-folk accents. A first single is released on August 29th How Could a Touch Be Softer?, followed by a second one by the end of September.
