En novembre et décembre 2010, se tiendra à Cancun (Mexique) la COP 16 (Conférence des Nations-Unies sur le Climat). Le risque est réel de voir ces discussions utilisées par les pays riches et industrialisés, par les multinationales, par les Institutions Financières Internationales (comme la Banque Mondiale) pour continuer à diviser et à privatiser ce qu'il reste de notre atmosphère et pour imposer leurs fausses solutions : les agro-carburants, le nucléaire, les OGM et les mécanismes de marché, tels que les « compensations carbone »ou l'intégration des forêts dans le marché du carbone.
En Europe, en Belgique, nous avons des problèmes spécifiques en matière de climat et de justice sociale : le risque que s'implante une nouvelle génération de centrales nucléaires ou au charbon, la dangereuse faiblesse des politiques climatiques, les mesures drastiques d'austérité qui se multiplient en réponse à la crise économique - plutôt qu'une juste transition vers des formes soutenables de production et consommation.
Les militant/es des mouvements sociaux et environnementaux d'Europe se rassembleront à Bruxelles du 26 au 29 novembre 2010 pour partager leurs idées et leurs expériences ainsi que leur vision et leurs projets en matière de justice climatique et sociale.

Cet évènement est co-organisé par des mouvements environnementaux et sociaux belges et européens, notamment Friends of The Earth, Climat et Justice Sociale et la Via Campesina.
Nous invitons les personnes, les organisations ou les mouvements à nous rejoindre pour préparer l'évènement, organiser un atelier, une projection, des actions ou tout autre activité intéressante !
Le dimanche 28 novembre nous organiserons une manifestation qui fera entendre sa revendication forte pour la Justice Climatique et rejoindra l'évènement « Chantez Pour le Climat », organisé par la Coalition belge. Plus info…
Durant les deux semaines du sommet climatique de Cancun, les « Jeunes Amis de la Terre » organisent pour leur part un rassemblement à Bruxelles.
Avant et pendant l'Assemblée, nous rassemblerons des messages qui seront ensuite acheminés vers Cancun et transmis aux mouvements sociaux rassemblés là-bas… ainsi qu'aux négociateurs. Plus info…

Join us in Brussels for 4 days of debate, discussion, planning, films, cultural events, and action.
In November and December 2010, the UN climate conference "COP16″ will be held in Cancún, Mexico. There is a real risk that these talks will be used by rich industrialized countries, multinational businesses and international financial institutions such as the World Bank, to divide up and privatise what is left of our atmosphere, and impose their false solutions such as agrofuels, nuclear power, GMOs, carbon offsetting and the inclusion of forests in carbon markets.
In Belgium and across Europe, we face our own problems regarding climate and social justice: the risk of a new generation of coal and nuclear power plants, dangerously weak national climate policies, the harsh austerity measures being pushed as a response to the economic crisis instead of a "just transition" to new sustainable forms of production and consumption.
Activists from environmental and social movements from across Europe will be gathering in Brussels from 26th to 29th November to share ideas, experiences and visions on climate and social justice in Europe.
Start making plans to attend, and please spread this call in your networks. Let us know if you would like to attend so we can get an idea of numbers that are likely to attend.
The event is being organised by European and Belgian environmental and social movements including Friends of the Earth, Climat et Justice sociale, and La Via Campesina. And we're still looking for groups and individuals who can help us organising the event, or who want to organise a workshop, film screening, or other activity at the event.
On Sunday afternoon we'll be joining the Belgian Climate Coalition to "Sing for the Climate", to bring a climate justice voice to the event. More info…

Van 26 tot 29 november vindt in Brussel de Europese Assemblee voor Klimaatgerechtigheid plaats. Het worden 4 dagen van debat, discussie, planning, film, cultuur en actie.
In november en december vindt de VN klimaatconferentie, COP16, plaats in Cancún, Mexico. Er bestaat een reëel gevaar dat de gesprekken ginds gebruikt zullen worden door de rijke, geïndustrialiseerde landen, multinationale ondernemingen en internationale financiële instellingen zoals de Wereldbank, om te verdelen en privatiseren wat er over blijft van onze leefomgeving, en om ons valse oplossingen zoals agrobrandstoffen, kernenergie, GGO's, koolstofcompensaties en het opnemen van bossen in de koolstofmarkten op te dringen.
In België en doorheen Europa worden we momenteel geconfronteerd met onze eigen problemen betreffende klimaat- en sociale gerechtigheid: het risico van een nieuwe generatie van kool- en nucleaire centrales, een gevaarlijk zwak, nationaal klimaatbeleid, strenge soberheidsmaatregelen die worden opgedrongen als antwoord op de economische crisis in plaats van een "rechtvaardige transitie" naar nieuwe duurzame vormen van productie en consumptie.
Activisten van milieu- en sociale bewegingen van over gans Europa zullen daarom samenkomen in Brussel van 26 tot 29 november om ideeën, ervaringen en visies op klimaat- en sociale gerechtigheid in Europa uit te wisselen.
Maak nu reeds plannen om deel te nemen en verspreid deze oproep via je netwerken. Laat het ons weten indien je zou willen deelnemen zodat we ons een idee kunnen vormen van het aantal deelnemers dat ons zal vervoegen.
Dit evenement wordt georganiseerd door Europese en Belgische milieu- en sociale bewegingen, waaronder Friends of the Earth, Klimaat en Sociale Rechtvaardigheid en La Via Campesina. We zijn nog steeds op zoek naar groepen en individuen die ons kunnen helpen bij de organisatie van dit evenement, of die een workshop, filmvoorstelling of andere activiteit willen organiseren.
Zondag 28 november 's namiddags zullen we de Belgische Klimaatcoalitie vervoegen voor het evenement "Zingen voor het Klimaat", om nog een stem van klimaatgerechtigheid aan het gebeuren toe te voegen. Meer info…
Volgend op de Assemblee zullen de Young Friends of the Earth Europe, tijdens de 2 weken durende VN Klimaattop, een samenkomst organiseren te Brussel. Meer informatie hieromtrent volgt binnenkort.
Voor en tijdens de Assemblee zullen we boodschappen verzamelen die meegenomen zullen worden naar de VN onderhandelingen in Cancun om ze er te delen met de sociale bewegingen en de onderhandelaars die ginds verzamelen. Meer info…
